[Google Reviews] Correct Mark-up for structured data to show Rich Result on SERP

Hi there,

I'm migrating my conversation with Elfsight support Nataliya here.

I've bought the Elfsight Google Review Widge for my Wix site in hope to show as rich-result on SERP. During my back and forth discussion with Nataliya, she helped me change the mark-up of Google Review Widget from "Local Business" to "Product".

However, upon further looking into SEO, I realized...

Elfsight Google Review Widget markupshould never be set as "Product / AggregateRating".

When the Elfsight Google Review Widget is set with wrong markup, web crawler detects the webpage as if there is product available, it would show error messages that I can never correct (there is no SKU number for Local Business....). (test result from Google Rich Results Test).

This not only affects my current widget but all customers who have implemented Elfsight Google Review on their webpage, because Google Reviews are not meant for reviews of "Product" all the way...I take into account what Google's testing tool warns, as I don't want this to affect ranking on SERP.

So to stress it again, this should be fixed not just for myself but also for everyone else who's currently using this widget.

I hope this is clear enough for you to push Elfsight developers to change the markup back to its original setting. If not, please escalate this ticket to the management who could better proceed with the request.

Thank you

    Dear Joe,

Thank you for leaving your request!

We are sorry that you have concerns regarding our current markup.

What we'd love to explain is that the error messages you mentioned are not errors but warnings which do not affect your website's and widgets' performance and position in SERP, so you are very welcome to keep using the app. If these warnings were errors Google would never display our markup in search results.

We've changed Local Business markup as it didn't display stars in SERP, while Product markup does. We had to set current markup this very way in order to display stars in search results as, for the moment, this is the only solution. Our development team will keep working to change and adjust the markup in order to make it more functional.

We've also added an option to disable our markup so that you can use another one instead.

If you have further questions or need other assistance, you are most welcome to contact us in your support ticket, we'll be happy to help.

    Have a nice day!
